
Dr. Roger Grimson received his Ph.D. degree in mathematics from Duke University and he completed a post doctoral fellowship program in biostatistics and epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served on the faculty of three universities and is now an independent consultant.
Dr. Grimson has authored and co-authored over 120 professional peer reviewed papers and book chapters in areas of biostatistics and mathematics, most with medical applications.
He has served as principle investigator, co-investigator or senior biostatistician on many grants for over 25 years, and as such, directed the analysis of epidemiologic studies and clinical trials.
He has served as advisor/consultant to federal, state and local government health departments, hospitals and law firms.
He has served as a member or chair of numerous boards and commissions regarding statistics, the environment and public health. He has received service awards for this work.
Dr. Grimson's work is recognized in books and in computer programs.
Dr. Grimson has served twice as guest co-editor for the professional journal Statistics in Medicine.
He has appeared on television, radio and other public forums to speak on matters of health and risk.
He has consulted with attorneys and served as a statistical expert in the areas of product liability, environment, education, crime, patients, false advertisement claims, panel assignments, discrimination and up coding.
